Intermediate Designers

Concrete is looking for talented freelance designers to join our team. We’re looking for confident, hard working problem solvers that thrive in a collaborative environment. You are both creative and strategic, with the ability to rationalize and sell your ideas to both clients and within the studio.

We are currently interviewing for an intermediate designer position (3 to 6 years experience). Applicants should have a strong interest and/or experience with brand identity, packaging, web and interactive for national and multi-national brands.

A successful candidate for this position should be:

  • Multi-disciplinary, with a solid foundation of design theory and practical tools.
  • A great communicator, strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly collaborative, a relationship builder.
  • Able to thrive in pressure situations.
  • Curious to understand client needs, industry trends.
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and will take full ownership of their projects, beginning to end.

Design Intern

We offer 12 week internships to students and recently graduated students who are enrolled in or have finished a college/university-level design stream. Applicants are expected to be comfortable with Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop. Illustration, photography, motion and web skills are always appreciated but not necessary. Typically interns will assist designers with projects and fulfill additional responsibilities around the office. The right candidate will be resourceful, have a great attitude and passion for design.

Brand Planner Intern

Concrete is looking for a marketing intern to join our team. The ideal candidate would be enrolled in or a recent grad of a post-secondary marketing or communications program and willing to commit minimum of three months full time. Typically marketing interns assist the brand planning team with research and sourcing, drafting creative briefs, project scheduling, awards submissions and support the operations of a busy creative studio.

A successful candidate for this position should be:

  • Resourceful and self directed, able to work independently.
  • Multi-disciplinary, with an interest in art, popular culture, branding and design.
  • Posses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Client focused preferably with some customer service experience.
